Young Investigator Travel Award Applications and Poster submissions for the 2024 Annual Molecular Psychiatry Meeting are open.

Symposia Submissions – CLOSED
A complete call for symposia and symposium submission instructions can be found here.
The deadline for all submissions was Monday, August 14, 2023.
All that is needed is the symposium title, a brief description of the symposium and a list of presenters. There is limited space; therefore, all submissions received will be reviewed by the Organizing Board and notifications of acceptance will be sent by email. Symposia are two hours in length. Each symposium must have a chair and a co-chair. There is no requirement for the number of speakers, although each symposium typically has 4 speakers. The chair may participate as a speaker, but it is not required. Symposia proposals should have a molecular focus, and will be assessed for the topic (relevance and interest to the molecular psychiatry field), caliber and diversity of speakers (institution, career stage, gender), and originality (topic/speakers have not presented frequently at previous MPA and other conferences).
Young Investigator Travel Award Applications – Deadline is October 13, 2023.
Young Investigator Travel Award Submission Instructions can be found here.
There are two types of travel awards:
  • (1) for graduate or medical students who are currently enrolled in PhD, MD, or MD/PhD programs
  • (1) for postdoctoral fellows/medical residents/junior faculty.

For the postdoc/resident/junior faculty level award, applicants must be within 5 years of completing postdoctoral or residency training. Applicants may have a career development award (K-type) but not yet an R-level grant. Please submit your CV or NIH biosketch, a half-page career statement and explanation of why this travel award would be beneficial for you, and one letter of recommendation that also confirms your eligibility (for graduate/medical student award, currently enrolled in PhD, MD, or MD/PhD program. For postdoc/resident/junior faculty award, currently a postdoctoral fellow or resident, or within 5 years of completing training). Preference will be given to those presenting a symposium talk or poster at the meeting.

Only young investigators receiving the awards will be notified in mid-November 2023.  Awards for both types are for $1,500.  Part of the monies must be used to register for the meeting.

Poster SubmissionsDeadline is October 13, 2023.
Poster Submission Instructions can be found here.

The summary of the poster presentation should be no more than 250 words.  Young Investigators, which include graduate or medical students who are currently enrolled in PhD, MD, or MD/PhD programs or postdoctoral fellows/medical residents/junior faculty, will be eligible to give a brief talk prior to the poster session in the poster talk session. Please indicate whether you wish to be considered for the poster talk session during the submission process. Abstracts selected for talks in the poster talk session must also be presented as posters in the poster session. All posters are accepted unless otherwise notified.  Poster dimensions will be available in late fall 2023.

If you have any questions, please email the MPA Executive Office at info@molecularpsychiatry.net.
